Start from FVE 8.7, we are able to monitor VEEM backup solution via Backup Enterprise Manager
Prerequisites:
- VEEAM Backup Enterprise Manager with Enterprise Plus or MSP VEEAM license.
- Network access from FGLAM to http://Veeam_Enterprise_Manager:9399/api/
Monitoring user account (either domain or local) must have Portal Administrators role in VEEAM Backup Enterprise Manager
You can either manually assign this role directly to that user or add that user to Local administrator group on Backup Enterprise Manager server.
Here are the steps on how to Monitor VEEAM:
- Login to VEEAM Backup Enterprise Manager console: https://Veeam_Enterprise_Manager:9443 as administrator user
- Go to Configuration | Licensing to verify you have requiredlicensetype (Enterprise Plus or MSP VEEAM license.)
- Go to Configuration | Roles and add user then assign the rule
- Go to Foglight web Console and login as administrator user
- Go to Homes | Protection | Administration | VEEAM Agent
- Create Add
- Select desired Foglight Agent Manger then click next
- Put enterprise manager server address then click next
- Add VEEAM Manager Server to a new credential use the account we created from step 3
- Click finish
