Please create a new credential for this action or add a new resource mapping to an existing credential by following the steps below.
Create a new credential:
- Go to "Administration | Credentials"
- Click on "Manage Credentials"
- Click on the green "Add" button and select the credential type you need
- Now follow the wizard and enter user name, password etc and add the credential to the wanted lockbox
- On the "Resource Mapping" step, click on the "Add" button and select as usage:
“Execute Command On Remote Hosts For Windows”
or
“Execute Command On Remote Hosts For Unix” - Enter host and/or domain name of the target host and click on "Add" to finish the Resource Mapping step
- Now follow the remaining steps and finish the credential creation
Add a new resource mapping to an existing credential:
- On the "Manage Credentials" dashboard select the credential you want to modify
- Click in the second column on the "Edit" icon and select "Resource Mapping"
- Click on the "Add" button and select as usage:
“Execute Command On Remote Hosts For Windows”
or
“Execute Command On Remote Hosts For Unix” - Enter host and/or domain name of the target host and click on "Add" to finish the Resource Mapping step
Finally re-release the lockbox to push out the changes to the Foglight Agent Manager.
NOTE:
The rule triggers for all hosts so it is recommended to use a domain user credentials (or similar) who can connect to all hosts and instead of adding a specific hostname use the "*", so the credential works for all hosts. Without this approach, you have to add a new credential or extend the resource mapping for each single host.
