What does the error "Binding for metric name does not have the same parents as the first binding? (4255924)

Errors containing the error "Binding for metric does not have the same parents as the metrics in the first binding" appear in the FMS logs. What does did mean?

By default, the parent is taken as the object immediately above the metric. Each single parent binding must have the same parent. It is required set the parent explicitly since it is different than the default. The Foglight Web Component Guide covers the subject of bindings.

If the view mentioned in the rest of the error is from a custom cartridge, get the cartridge developer to resolve this. If everything appears to be working correctly with this cartridge further action may not be required.
