How to UPDATE (NOT MOVE) SQL cluster with SQL Processing Wizard
There is no special approach to update SQL server cluster. SQL Processing Wizard needs to be executed normally indicating virtual SQL server name for resource updating. This is because the updating takes place inside the databases that reside on the resource shared between cluster nodes, so it does not matter which cluster node is active at the moment. THIS PROCESS CAN ONLY BE PERFORMED IF THE CLUSTER IS NOT GOING TO BE MOVED.
Microsoft does not support moving an already installed and configured Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2 failover cluster from one domain to another.
