Description
Getting the following error, when trying to set up a SQL Server agent:
"Failed to monitor myComputer\SQLEXPRESS
Error: [DataDirect][SQL Server JDBC Driver] The connection to the host {0}, named instance {1} has failed. Error: "{2}. Verify the server and instance names, check that no firewall is blocking UDP traffic to port 1434, and for SQL Server 2005 or later verify that the SQL Server Browser Service is running on the host"

Resolution
Please check the following:
- Ensure that the DB user credentials are correct
- Ensure that the Windows authentication credentials are trusted and exist in the database logins
- Ensure that the DB service is up and running
- Ensure that the SQL Server instance port is correct
- Ensure that the Windows authentication credentials were entered in format: DOMAIN\USER
- Port is blocked at the firewall level on the OS of either the FglAM or host, or on the network
