LAN Gateway is showing offline within ‘View status’ on the ‘Settings’ menu. When the LAN Gateway is offline none of the workstations can be accessed.
There are two possible causes for this problem.
Cause 1: Anonymous authentication has been disabled for the RSC (Remote Support Center) virtual directory.
Cause 2: The default port for SSL was changed within IIS after installation.
It may be necessary to modify the default port of 443 if that port is in use by another application.
Resolution 1: Enable anonymous authentication on the RSC virtual directory within the IIS Manager.
Resolution 2: Follow the steps below to change the port for Remote Support Center. Port 444 will be used in this example:
Delete the start menu shortcut ‘RSC Management Console’ from the following location:
2008 & 2008 R2: %allusersprofile%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\ScriptLogic Corporation\Remote Support Center
2003: %allusersprofile%\Start Menu\Programs\ScriptLogic Corporation\Remote Support Center
Recreate the shortcut in the same folder using the following URL:
https://localhost:444/RSC/default.aspx
Modify the following file in notepad:
Note: It may be necessary to open Notepad as an administrator on 2008 or 2008 R2 in order to save the change.
C:\Program Files\ScriptLogic Corporation\RSC\Gateway\LAN\gatewaylan.cfg
Change 443 to 444 in the file. It will only be listed one time in the file.
Modify the following file in notepad:
C:\Program Files\ScriptLogic Corporation\RSC\Kernel\Web\AppSettings.xml
Search for ‘WebServerSSLPort’ (without quotes) and change the value from 443 to 444.
Launch the RSC console, log in and regenerate the RSCClient install package from the Settings menu | ExpertAssist Deployment Package
Reinstall the RSC client if necessary
