I keep scripts (SQL queries, etc) in different folders for different projects. To get to them, I use the "load from file" button or File | Open.
The window defaults to the folder I used the last time I opened a script file. However, if the script is in a different folder, I have to "walk the tree", Windows-Explorer-style, to get to it.
It would be very helpful if TOAD had an option (drop-down list, etc) to display the folders from which script files were opened most recently. I could then just pick the one containing the script I want to open next.
1) Click on the "Load from File" icon or File | Open.
2) In the Open window, navigate to a folder that you go to a lot for your scripts, so its name is in the "Look in" field at the top of the window.
3) Click on the "Add Favorite" button on the bottom right corner of the window.
4) Select the dropdown arrow next to the Favorites field and you will see the folder you just added.
Any time you want to get to one of your favorites folders, you can select it from the field and it will take you straight there. Please let me know if this is what you were looking for.
The paths that are set as favorites in the Open window are stored in your Toad.ini file. The Toad.ini file can be found in your Toad for Oracle\User Files directory. Search the Toad.ini file for "CommonDialogFavorites". You can remove any of the paths from this list that you no longer want displayed.
