6. Cached Credentials Utility
For CCU troubleshooting, the necessary files are cachecredsvc.log and cachecredui.log.
If you experience any problems with the utility, check the logs. The utility will create the following two log files on remote computers:
l %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Quest Software\CacheCred\cachecredui.log
l %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Quest Software\CacheCred\cachecredsvc.log
CCU also creates Vmover log files on network shares specified by the SUCCESS_REPORT and ERROR_ REPORT parameters. Note that the Write permission must be granted to Everyone for those network shares. For details, see corresponding parameter description in Technical Reference: Utility Configuration Parameters
Enabling extended logging
If you need increase the logging level for a specific computer, take the following steps:
1. Open the cachecred.ini located at %Program Files%\Quest\Cached Credentials Utility or %Program Files(x86)%\Quest\Cached Credentials Utility with any text editor.
2. Change the following field values:
svc.log.verbose = 5
ui.log.verbose = 5
3. Save the changes and then restart the service.
GATHER SUPPORT INFORMATION
Additionally, when contacting Quest support, you may be asked to send in all support files. This can be done for each synchronization job by right clicking on the job, and choosing Gather Support Information. For example. if you were having problems with Mail synchronization, you would right click on the mail synchronization job having issues, and choose Gather Support Information. This would gather all log files and place them in a location you choose. In addition to the log files mentioned above, it would also provide additional files which contain information about the Migration Manager for Exchange install. This would include versions of various software, and dlls.
