How to create a rule for user defined collections?
To create a rule do the following:
1. Go to "Administration | Rules & Notifications"
2. Click on "Create Rule"
3. Now enter needed values - here some general hints:
- When select "Time Driven" rule triggering, please tick the box "Enable Trigger without Data" too. Now the rule will be triggered even if no data changed during the last collection(s)
- The rule scope is:
Oracle: DBO_Cust_XXXX
SQL Server: DBSS_Cust_XXXX
Where XXXX is equal to the name of the user defined collection. So if you named a particular DBSS SQL Server cartridge user defined collection called version, the rule scope would be named DBSS_Cust_version.
4. Setup desired condition tab, IE fatal, critical or warning. Usually the condition for evaluation is comprised of one of the scoped properties against a registry value.
5. After enter the conditions and - if needed - rule actions such as setting up email actions, save the new rule.
Now the rule can be administered like any other rule via "Administration | Rules & Notifications | Rule Management"
