Get Ora-01005 error when connecting using Oracle Advanced Security with Radius -
Description
When using Oracle Advanced Security with Radius for authenticating user connections, an "ORA-01005: null password give; logon denied" error is returned.
Using SQLplus to connect works just fine.
eg conn 555333[a_xxx]/mypwd@somedb
If Oracle Advanced Security is turned off, then the proxy connection works just fine.
When supplying the password with the proxy (eg conn 555333[a_xxx/proxypwd]/mypwd@somedb) the connection works but this is not an acceptable workaround. -
Cause
Connecting using Oracle Advanced Security with Radius is not supported.

Resolution
Toad does not support this type of environment. Toad can support standard Oracle Advanced Security, but it does not support Oracle Advanced Security with the use of Radius or Wallets methodology.
