When a session is replayed in Foglight Experience Viewer (FxV), "Page cannot be found" is displayed for broken links (404 errors). But those images were there during the live session. Now for the Pages in FxV, all the images are shown as red "X" marks. All images for all sessions are shown as red "x" placeholders on pages when replaying a sessions.
POSSIBLE CAUSE 1
POSSIBLE CAUSE 2
Configuration property that needs to be checked on the Foglight Experience Monitor (FxM) appliance--the appliance that feeds all of the data into Foglight Experience Viewer (FxV). If this configuration isn't set in FxM, the port won't be forwarded to FxV and therefore isn't available in replay.
POSSIBLE CAUSE 3
Firewalls & Name Resolution. If a copy of the image wasn't captured as part of the session (say the image was already cached by the browser and not requested again), then your replay browser will be directed back to the live site to try and load the image. Also, sometimes it's a case where the production server names don't resolve from the browser where replay is done.
POSSIBLE CAUSE 4
If you are using version 5.0.1 or lower, a Software Bug. This problem has been identified as BR1284
RESOLUTION 1 (for cause 1)
RESOLUTION 2 (for cause 2)
1. In the FxM web console UI menu, go to 'Configure' | 'Monitoring' | 'URLs'
2. Click on the "Advanced Options" link.
3. On that page, make sure that the "Include ports when analyzing URLs" is checked.
RESOLUTION 3 (for cause 3)
If the replay browser cannot ever access the production site for some reason (if FxV is used in a CSR environment where there is no web access for example), then the make sure that FxV captures as many images as possible--modify the "Default Type Exclusions" hit filter that would ordinarily be dropping images.
