Executing a statement using (F9) prompts for variables in lines that have been commented out or in strings i.e. 'CA & NV'
WORKAROUND #1:
In Toad 11.0, choose 'Ignore those in comments' or 'None' via View | Toad Options | Execute/Compile | under 'Substitution Variable Prompting’.
In Toad 10.6.1, go to View | Toad Options | Execute/Compile | uncheck 'Prompt for substitution variables'.
WORKAROUND #2:
Run the statement using Execute as Script (F5) with the “set define off” included at the front of the statement.
WORKAROUND #3:
Toad v11 has a new option for substitution variable prompt. This setting has three options: "All", "None", or "Ignore those in comments". These settings will be found under View | Toad Options | Execute/Compile.
