When launching SQL Optimizer 7.2 from Toad for Oracle, only a grey screen is shown within Toad and SQL Optimizer does not launch.
This occurs if the following Toad setting is saved:
View | Toad Options | General | Numeric Character
Thousand separator is '.' and the decimal is ',' (European standard)
WORKAROUND:
Modify Toad settings to the following:
1. View | Toad Options | General | Numeric Character
2. Thousand separator set to ',' and the Decimal set to '.' (UK & American Standard)

Fixed in version 7.3 of SQL Optimizer for Oracle. The latest version can be downloaded here.
