When installing the agents from the console on to an Exchange Virtual Server that is running on Windows 2003 cluster server, the agent installation fails if the cluster server contains resources of the Physical Disk type that refer to the Volume Mount Point. The following error is written to the EMWMigration.log:
8/19/2005 5:40:56 PM EMW::aeEMWGUIShared::modMain::GetInstallPathForCluster::Error: 457 - This key is already associated with an element of this collection; ClusterName: 'somename'; Group:
'somename'.
When trying to enumerate the discs, the console finds two or more discs because of the Volume Mount Point, and causes the agent installer to fail.
A manual install of the share is required on the volume. Perform the following:
1. Create the shared folder, QMMEX$[ExchangeVirtualServerName]$ in Cluster Admin as a cluster resource
2. Point the share to a folder on the shared disc (in a cluster group where Exchange server services reside)
3. Grant Everyone = Full Control permission to this share, and make this resource Online.
Then you can install agents as usual.
