Lowercase DESCRIPTION and CONNECT_DATA not being parsed in TNSNAMES.ora -
Description
In Toad for Oracle 11.5 and later (11.6 & 11.6.1) if either the reserved words DESCRIPTION or CONNECT_DATA are not in uppercase in the tnsnames.ora file, the databases do not show up when the in Toad's TNSNames Editor window. In previous versions, this was not the case.
The database shows up in the database drop down field and a connection can still be made, but the info, and any database info below that entry is not displayed in the TNSNames editor window.

Resolution
WORKAROUND:
Assess the tnsnames.ora file directly. Make sure database info is saved in the .ora file as all uppercase.
STATUS:
Issue fixed in version 12.0. The latest version of Toad for Oracle can be downloaded here.

This is not an issue in Toad 10.6 and older.
