After configuring and replicating the USB/Port Security (USBPS) settings. To troubleshoot this configuration on a user’s machine follow the steps below.
1. Verify the USBPS is installed on the machine.
a) An icon will appear in the system tray. (unless this option was disabled in the element configuration)
b) “Desktop Authority USB/Port Security” will show in Add/Remove Programs.
2. Right click on the USBPS icon in the system tray and select “See My Permissions”. This dialog window will show the current set of permissions applied to the logged on user.
At this point USBPS is installed on the machine and the permissions are set. If there were issues with the Installation of USBPS or the configuration settings not applying review the SLTrace.htm file. See USB/Port Security SLTrace Overview.
