How to publish ChangeAuditor searches for reporting\scheduling from SQL Reporting Services
Description
How to publish a ChangeAuditor search to SQL Reporting Services.
Resolution
To publish ChangeAuditor reports to Quest Knowledge Portal:
Open the Searches page
Expand the Private and Shared folders and select a folder in the explorer view to display the list of search/report definitions stored in the selected folder
From the right-hand pane, right-click a search/report definition and select Publish to Knowledge Portal
Note: To publish a series of reports (folder), select a folder in the explorer view, right-click and select Publish to Knowledge Portal. The Knowledge Portal Setup dialog appears allowing you to configure the SQL Server Reporting services to be used and specify the report details.
If not already configured, select the Configure button to specify the reporting services and Change Auditor shared data source to be used: - Enter the URL of the virtual directory for the Knowledge Portal web application. For example: http://SQL_Server/KP_VirtualDirectory
Where: SQL_Server is the name of the server hosting SRS and KP_VirtualDirectory is the name of the virtual directory for the Knowledge Portal web application. - Enter the user account, credentials and domain for a Windows® account that has permissions to copy files to SRS
Note: This Windows account requires rights to create SRS reports and data sources on the server (a.k.a. Content Manager). - Enter the user account and credentials to be used to access the Change Auditor database (data source) - Click the Test button to verify the credentials entered above
On the Knowledge Portal Setup dialog, you can also modify the name of the report, the location where the selected report is to be stored and the report template (RDL file) to be used to render the report
Once you have entered the requested information, ChangeAuditor will publish the reports to the specified server, which will then be available through the Knowledge Portal
Your Request will be reviewed by our technical reviewer team and, if approved, will be added as a Topic in our Knowledgebase.
