The below article is for a single server deployment.
1. From the UCA machine, Locate the Backup and Restore Scripts here:
"C:\Program Files\Quest\UC Analytics\Storage Engine Backup Scripts"
2. Right-click and Edit Backup.bat
3. Ensure the -storageDirectoryPath references the location of your Storage directory.
By Default, the Storage location is:
C:\Program Files\Quest\UC Analytics\Storage
Note: If you upgraded from 8.4.0 or earlier your Storage directory may be "\Program Files\Dell\UCCS Analytics\Storage"
4. Edit the -backupDirectoryPath if needed, by Default it's C:\UCA, you would need to ensure you have sufficient disk space to house the backup. The backup will be the size of
your Storage Directory.
5. If you need to make any changes ensure you Save the Backup.bat file and close it.
6. Open Command Prompt as Administrator
7. Change directory to the location of Backup.bat, listed in Step 1.
8. Run Backup.bat from Command Prompt
9. The Backup will be taken and by Default it will be placed in C:\UCA as per the "-backupDirectoryPath" in the Backup.bat file.
10. From your new UC Analytics machine, ensure you have all of the Prereqiusts installed and install UC-Analytics.
11. Important: After UC Analytics has been installed from Services.msc stop the UC Analytics Storage Engine, Query Engine and Data Engine Service.
12. Copy the C:\UCA\backup directory from the old server to the new server.
13. On the new server navigate to: "C:\Program Files\Quest\UC Analytics\Storage Engine Backup Scripts"
14. Right-click and Edit Restore.bat
15. Ensure the -backupDirectoryPath references the location of where you placed your UCA backup on the new machine. E.g. if you place it at the root fo the C: the path will be
"C:\UCA\backup"
16. The -backupLabel by default is "label"
17. Set the -backupDate to be the date of the backup. You can find it within the UCA\backup\.
E.g. -backupDate "2017-09-25"
18. Ensure the -storageDirectoryPath references the location of the Storage directory on the new machine. By Default it is "C:\Program Files\Quest\UC Analytics\Storage"
19. Save and close the Restore.bat file.
20. Run Command Prompt as Administrator on the new machine
21. Change directory to the Restore.bat file:
"C:\Program Files\Quest\UC Analytics\Storage Engine Backup Scripts"
22. Execute Restore.bat
23. Wait for the Restore to complete.
24. Once complete, from Services.msc start the three UC Analytics Services: Data Engine, Query Engine, Storage Engine
25. Open the UC Analytics Website and you should see your existing job configuration as well as your previously collected data.
26. You can stop the Three UC-Analytics Services on your old server and set them to disabled and uninstall UCA from the old machine if you wish.
