I am working with Vista, and when I try to launch SQL Optimizer, either through Toad or as standalone, I am prompted to Admin user log in. I am not an admin user, but I should have privileges to use Optimizer. What do I need to be able to use Optimizer?
Limited privilege issue.
To install Optimizer you will need Admin user privileges.
To use Optimizer after installation, at least Power User privileges are required. If working on Vista, if UAC (User Access Control) is enabled, the user will need admin rights, and the user will be prompted to log in with admin when launching Optimizer. If UAC is disabled, the user will be able to launch without being prompted for login.
