"Plan cost not found for SQL ID" message when option Analyze Plan page in SQL PI for Oracle RAC cluster -
Description
When selecting a sql statement in RAC cluster view and click analyze plan button, sometimes error will show in the new opened execution plan view. the error message says "Plan cost not found for SQL ID xxxxxxx";

Cause
When querying the plan cost of an execution plan, we use query the plan cost from partitioned plan dim tables, these query results are aggregated into rows. However, when we fetch plan cost from query results, only the first row is verified. It is possible that the plan cost is not in the first row. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND
A hotfix is attached to this KB article for the 5.9.5.20 cartridge.
Please note that upgrading to 5.9.5.20 from an earlier release will automatically disable the Infobright as a SQL PI component. A SQL Server Repository is necessary for use with the 5.9.5.20 cartridge.
- Login to the host where Foglight is installed,
- Go to Foglight home folder. By default the folder is C:\Quest\Foglight.
- Backup spi-presentation-base-1.14.0.jar in a separate folder that is NOT a subdirectory of folder, C:\Quest\Foglight\state\cartridge.exploded\DB_Oracle_UI-5_9_5_20\jarComponent-5_9_5_20
- Then replace the jar with attached debug jar spi-presentation-base-1.14.0.jar in the dir C:\Quest\Foglight\state\cartridge.exploded\DB_Oracle_UI-5_9_5_20\jarComponent-5_9_5_20 NOTE: make sure you unzip the jar file.
- Restart Foglight.
STATUS
This defect has been logged as FOM-370 and has been fixed in the 5.9.7.10 and higher releases of the SQL Server cartridge.
