While trying to run the Toad Data Modeler, this error appears" The Application has encountered a problem. We are sorry for the inconvenience.The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. " -
Cause
The issue occurs when the Windows Management Instrumentation Service is switched off -
Resolution
Manually turn off the "collection of user statistics", by modifying Application.txc
1) Find the corresponding configuration in "C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Dell\Toad Data Modeler\Configuration 1\Configs"
2) Open Application.txc
3) Find a string 1 and set it to 0
4) Restart the software
Note: An *.xml file is editable with Notepad, but if the user has another software to read those files(like Geany) it may be easier to edit it. It is always recommended to create a copy before editing.
