The Resource Breakdown pie chart displays the resource breakdown usage by % of the total instance activity.

Resource Breakdown Pie chart
This is an example of the resource breakdown pie chart from Performance Investigator (PI / SQL PI).
- The CPU usage is the CPU time that is used for parsing, executing, and fetching. Time that is not spent by the host instance waiting.
- Waits are queues or resources that threads are waiting for. There are many types of waits in the system and they all indicate the type of resources being waited for.
Drilling down into a Wait Event category
Selecting a Wait Event category displays a more detailed description of the wait type.
For example, selecting User IO wait in the Oracle PI changes the focus to the User IO dashboard and display a related note.
