Can Toad for Data Analysis use HP NonStop ODBC/MX drivers?
Currently have the following: NonStop ODBC/MX 2.0 driver (version 3.51.20.126) acquired from HP.
(See Screenshot: NonStop ODBC-MX Driver.jpg)
User has successfully set up and tested the Windows ODBC DSN connection to the NonStop SQL Database. User is also able to open the DSN from Toad for Data Analysis (TDA), but no tables or objects are found within the catalog or schema.
Note: The ODBC trace log shows a connection, but with the message that no data was found.
WORKAROUND:
Enter the DSN string in all CAPS or UPPER case in the ODBC Data Sources Administrator in Windows.
NOTE: According to the ODBC_MX Driver for Windows Manual, "MXCS maps the client data source name in an incoming connection request to the server data source name (names are case sensitive)." - (Connection Mapping, page 17 of PDF file).
Although the HP ODBC/MX manual states that the windows DSN string must be entered in the same case as the tandem objects (case sensitivity), it turns out that the DSN must actually be entered in UPPER case to connect and show objects in the schema correctly through TDA.
