Why is the Connect Using drop down menu grayed out after already connecting to a database? I have different Oracle Client versions installed on my machine and I would like to change to different Oracle Clients when connecting to different databases, but the Connect Using drop-down menu is grayed out.

Cause
As designed. Even though there may be multiple Oracle clients installed on a machine, Toad for Oracle is only limited to connect to one active TNS client per session of Toad for Oracle.

Resolution
WORKAROUND:
Open a second instance of Toad and the Connect Using drop-down menu will be available again to select the desired Oracle Client.
NOTE: There may be limitations in opening multiple sessions of Toad simultaneously due to Toad licensing user seat number.
