In many corporate environments displaying a legal notice before logging on to a computer is a requirement. This article gives the steps of creating a legal notice via Desktop Authority and explains the limitations of the feature on Windows operating systems.
1. Browse to Client Configuration | Profiles | User | ProfileName | Legal Notice.
2. Click “Add”

Enter “Windows Title” and “Message”, as shown below:

On Windows 7 the notice will display as shown below:

NOTE: Since this is a registry entry, it cannot be formatted with different font type, size, or color.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Message will update the “LegalNoticeText” registry value at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
