When trying to connect to a forest from the Active Directory Node in the Recovery Manager for AD console, the following error occurrs:
"Connection to Forest vul.com failed"
"Error Details: "Server Down"
You can confirm this is an environmental issue by runing Active Directory Users and Computers (dsa.msc) from the RMAD server using the same credentials and try to connect to the forest. You will get a similar error.
Check to see if the account has permissions to view the forest. Check to see if there are any network or communication issues between the RMAD server and the DCs in the forest.
