New features

The following new features were introduced in this release of Benchmark Factory.

• Industry Standard Benchmark Testing

New Replication Benchmark Test

This release includes a new benchmark-type test for benchmarking replication performance. This new test is uniquely designed by Benchmark Factory to use with Dell™ SharePlex™, a software application for replicating and migrating databases. The new Replication test includes the following features:

Customize the number of tables and columns
Customize the column types (data types)
Specify the percentage of each column type (data type) in all tables
Specify the percentage of each statement type (insert, update, delete) within a test, as well as the number of statements per commit (transaction)
Each incremental increase in scale factor automatically adds an additional 1000 rows of data to each table

• Agents

When creating a new job, the local agent is now automatically selected in the New Job Wizard if no other agents are selected in the default settings in Edit | Settings | Agent.

• Latency

The Latency dialog has been redesigned to simplify the process of specifying latency values for a transaction. One can now select from three options:

No Delay
Transaction Rate
Real-World Delays
