Command Line Installer not installing into the specified path -
Description
When attempting to perform a command line or silent install of the ChangeAuditor Agent 6 using the msiexec command, and using the INSTALLDIR switch to specify an alternative installation location, the files are installed into the default directory. (C:\Program Files\Quest Software) -
Cause
The "ChangeAuditor Agent 6 (x64).msi" installer file does not respond to the INSTALLDIR switch. Instead, it uses the APPDIR switch. -
Resolution
Rather than use the INSTALLDIR switch, use the APPDIR switch to specify an alternative installation path. An example of this can be seen below. Please note, this example is only making use of some of the possible switches. In this example, the install file is located at the root of the C:\ drive, and the desired installation path is "C:\QuestSoftware\"
msiexec /i "C:\Quest ChageAuditor Agent 6 (x64).msi" /qb APPDIR="C:\QuestSoftware\"

Additional Information
The INSTALLDIR switch is still the appropriate one to use on ChangeAuditor 5.x installations.
