When executing the Log Gather Utility, the following error message may be presented to the user:
"Error gathering Client Info.." or "Error gathering Manager Info.."
“Unable to process the request due to: Could not load file or assembly ‘Interop.NetFwTypeLib, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral. PublicKeyToken=null’ or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.”
There can be many causes for this issue. Example: Anti-Malware removing or not allowing one or more files to be created, copied, registered, etc…
On the client workstation go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\Desktop Authority\Client Files\LogGatherUtil or C:\Program Files (x86)\Quest\Desktop Authority\Client Files\LogGatherUtil and ensure that all the files in the folder are intact.
The LogGatherUtil directory should contain:
Files_Client.config
Files_Mgr.config
ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll
Interop.NetFWType.Lib.dll
Microsoft.Web.Administrator.dll
Scriptlogic.DatabaseInfoLib.dll
Scriptlogic.LogGatherUtil.exe
ScriptLogic.LogGatherUtil.exe.config
If the files do not exist, they may be copied from a workstation where the utility is functioning properly.
