PA Client GUI hangs when trying to connect to the agents.
Repository Manager or Middleware is unable to make complete contact back to the client server. If Middleware server is a Windows 2000 server, this can be a problem as a Desktop heap issue.
OR
Repository Manager or Middleware is unable to make complete contact back to the client server. In sc_rep_mngr.xml file, startup_type=”auto” was changed to startup_type= “manual”.
WORKAROUND 1
This applies If Middleware server is a Windows 2000 server.
1. Restart the middleware server
2. Restart the middleware repository server
WORKAROUND 2:
This applies if sc_rep_mngr.xml file, startup_type=”auto” was changed to startup_type= “manual”.
1. Close all connections to PA
2. Revert the config file to its original setup. In <Installation_directory>\agents\StealthCollect\7.0\<MONITORED_INSTANCE>\quest_sc_rep\config\sc_rep_mngr.xml, change the parameter startup_type=”manual” to startup_type= "auto”.
Client is hanging while waiting to get a response from Repository Manager from the client gui logfiles. To verify this, please send Quest Support the files from e.g 'C:\Documents and Settings\<User name>\Local Settings\Application Data\Quest Software\Performance Analysis 6.0\Services\<Service Name>\Log\'
