Some AntiVirus solutions will interfere or block Recovery Manager for Exchange processes including installing and running Exchange emulation. Successfully adding Recovery Manager for Exchange to an AntiVirus exclusion list can prove to be a helpful troubleshooting technique if you are having problems installing the product or getting Emulation mode to connect.

Resolution
Disable Real-Time scanning.
The following directory should be exempt:
- C:\Program Files\Exchange
- C:\Program Files\Quest Software\
- C:\Documents and Settings\User (User being the account running Recovery Manager for Exchange).
The following processes should be exempt:
- mmc.exe
- StoreHost*
- *RecoveryManager*
