If migrating with an import file and specifying "Name" attribute in the format Smith, John the resulted target account contains the following DN:
CN=Smith, John,OU=Migration, DC=Root,DC=Local
An additional backslash symbol ( \ ) is added in front of the coma ( , ).
Migrating with an import file having "Smith, John" (name in quotes) as NAME parameter is causing this type of DN on the target:
CN="Smith, John",OU=Migration, DC=Root,DC=Local
Natively creating account in AD specifying "Smith, John" (name in quotes) in the "First Name" field leaving "Last Name" field blank will cause the same type of behavior.
Migrating with the import file containing Smith, John without quotation marks leads to this DN:
CN=Smith\, John,OU=Migration, DC=Root,DC=Local
Creating new object in AD specifying Smith, John (no quotes) in the field "First Name" leaving "Last Name" blank will cause the same DN:
CN=Smith\, John,OU=Migration, DC=Root,DC=Local
This is native AD behaviour. Please avoid using comas ( , ) in the Name attribute of import file.
