When running a WebSphere 5.1 or 6.1 server the WebSphere server state shows the server as down (WebSphere Server State rule) when it is clearly up.
DMGR (Deployment Manager) must be instrumented to show correct server state.
The DMGR (Deployment Manager) must be instrumented like a server. Once this is completed the appservers will show the correct server state on the dashboards. The instruction to instrument the DMGR (Deployment Manager) can be found in the Cartridge for JavaEE Installation Guide.
On occasions where the WebSphere server state still show the server as down even when the DMGR (Deployment Manager) has been instrumented, syncNode command has to be executed to force a configuration synchronization to occur between the node and the DMGR (Deployment Manager):
