False alarms are generated for Sybase Backup Server Status.
Review of historical data for SybaseServerStatus shows data server status is being collected, but backup server information is not complete and showing "n/a" values.

Cause
Incorrect value for "Backup Server Alias" agent property. -
Resolution
The Sybase MDA agent uses the "srvname" value (Default is SYB_BACKUP) to test connectivity to the backup server. Connection may fail if using the "srvnetname".
Connection to the Backup Server can be tested by connecting to the Sybase instance and running the command:
exec SYB_BACKUP...sp_who

The following query may be used to review values for "srvnetname" and "srvname".
