How to setup 2nd job to execute as 1st job ends (Job triggering).
Solution: To trigger a job to run when another completes can be accomplished as follows:
--create the jobs that are to be "linked" and note their respective job numbers
When creating the second job (the job that is being triggered, set it's Schedule to Immediate)
-- next go in to Job Management and right click on the job that is to run first and select
edit/view job. Now go to the Advanced options tab and select Modify at the bottom.
-- check the box next to Use Post Script and type in the name of a batch file that you will be creating in the first box.
Solution/Workaround/Procedure
-- the batch file should be written as follows:
cd C:\Program Files\BakBone Software\NetVault\util
nvjobstart -servername Scooter -jobid 88
#include actual path in the first line
# type your actual NetVault server name where Scooter is and the actual job # after -jobid
--this batch file needs to reside on the machine/client that is being backed up in the BakBone Software\NetVault\Scripts directory. So, for example, your NetVault server is machine A and you're backing up client B. When that job completes you want to trigger another job to start then the script needs to reside on client B.
