Autoloader only shows 8 slots, instead of 16 (4047806)

Description:
NetVault reports autoloader has 8 slots, when it really has 16. On autoloaders that accept 2 magazines, often they are only sold with one, or may be configured initially to use only one of the two magazines.

Symptoms:
Can only use 8 of 16 tapes in an autoloader.

Find the place in the manual for your autoloader about configuring the magazines. Usually there will be options of left, right or both. This must be set to "both" to use all 16 slots.
