Any backups with a data size greater than 400GB will fail during the restore with the error "Restore Failed"
In the logs you will receive a “Restore failed” message. This issue will also affect data copy and duplication jobs. The error message will be the same for all scenarios.

Job manager lost message channel unexpectedly
This issue was introduced in NetVault 8.6.1 with the introduction of support for NDMP backups ability to write to SmartDisk.
This issue has now been resolved, the new versions of NetVault: Backup 8.6.1 binaries can be downloaded from here in the Support Portal.
Please install the new release to be able to restore backups over 400GB of data. The new build can be identified in the NetVault Configurator as R2011DEC09-JUNO.
