Netvault Report jobs hang and never complete, then need to be aborted.
The process of pulling together reporting information can sometimes completely hang when corrupt records in the NetVault Database are encountered.
Run a NetVault Database backup with the following backup options enabled:
-- "Check database tables before backup"
-- "Compact database tables after backup"
If the NetVault Database backup completes without warnings or errors when these options are enabled, any corrupt records should have been removed and reports should compile smoothly.
However, if the NetVault Database backup completes with warnings or errors indicating that corrupt records in the Schedule or Media Databases were found, but could not be removed, they should be manually removed using the steps outlined below.

How to compact the schedule database:
On the NetVault server:
1) Stop the NetVault services
2) Open a command prompt and navigate to the NetVault installation path’s “util” directory
3) Run the command: nvscheddbcheck compact
4) Run the command: nvscheddbcheck check
The nvscheddbcheck command can take one of the following arguments:
- check: Just performs database checks
- compact: Performs the database checks, fixes faults identified during the check phase, and compacts the database
- list: Prints a line of output for every policy, job, instance, instance data record, scheduled phase, and change record in the database. This is particularly useful in order to determine what records should be deleted.

4) Run the command: nvmedddbcheck check
5) If the above command returns errors, then run the command: nvmedddbcheck Force
6) Re-run the check command and watch for any remaining errors: nvmedddbcheck check
