local. Sometimes it may be necessary to add an instance. In 2000, fumbling around the enterprise
manager will not help!! It is necessary to re-run the installer
It is necessary to re-run the installer - typically entitled setup.bat - the wizard is straight
forward and will allow you to easily create a new instance.
Once you have created the instance, open the enterprise manager. You will notice the instance
doesn't appear by default. You now have to register the server instance by right clicking at top
level of the console tree. The wizard will guide you through this simple process.
