Description: Exchange Information Store backups fail when backing up log files
While running an Anti-Virus program, Information Store backups will fail while backing up log files because when NetVault accesses those logs, the Anti-Virus program thinks that there is a virus and quarantines the log.
You will see log entries similar to the following:
Failed to open file 'D:\EXCHSRVR\mdbdata\ .log'
Updating logs after backup: Truncate logs, Instance 'First Storage Group'
Closing backup channel: Backup Instance end Writing Backup Trailer to tape Check that all databases are mounted Fatal Error: Backup Failed Job Status: Backup Failed
Stop the Anti-Virus program before starting the backup and re-enable it after the backup completes. Using a pre-script and post-script makes this task much easier.
