Description
Backup of a VM fail with error " Index was outside the bounds of the array ".

Cause
Potential causes:
- ESX host was recently updated.
- VM was vMotioned from an outdated host.
- VM was recently restored from an old arhive.

Resolution
Whenever an ESX host is updated, then sometimes it will require you to upgrade the VMware tools on all the VMs.
- Right click on the offending VM, select guest, select install/upgrade vmware tools.
- vCenter will perform the upgrade automatically. This may reboot the VM to complete the installation.
