Description:
Differential Backup Unable to "Backup as Full" when encountering a new Database in the SQL Instance
Symptoms:
When setting up a Differential backups to "Backup as Full" upon encountering a new database in the MSSQL Instance. The backup processes the new database as backup type Differential -
Resolution
This is a known issue and is properly documented in the MS SQL Server APM Release Notes.
Version 5.0 Update 6 of the NetVault: Backup APM for SQL Server does not Support the following SQL Server features:
Multibase Differential Backups - Intermixing full database with full file backups as differential bases
The workaround would be to run a full backup against the SQL Instance before attempting a differential backup. -
