When trying to open or configure the Exchange Server APM, the following error message pops up:
'Unable To Load Exchange Server Runtime'
The Exchange Server APM is unusable at this stage.
In order to start the Exchange Server APM authentication and browse processes, the Exchange Server APM first needs to access the Exchange 'esebcli2.dll' library.
Its location is determined by the following registry key value:
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\BackupRestore\DLLPaths"
If this registry key value points to a path outside of the normal "Exchange_Application_directory\bin", the Exchange Server APM cannot be started.
Verify that the registry key value "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\BackupRestore\DLLPaths" points to the Exchange application 'bin' directory:
example:
- "C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\bin\esebcli2.dll" for Exchange 2003
- ''C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\bin\esebcli2.dll' for Exchange 2007
If the registry key points to a different location, please edit the registry to correct the value.
Please contact Microsoft for help on editing the registry.
