Description:
Backup Jobs are delayed waiting for Job options from several minutes to several hours before they begin writing to media
Symptoms:
Filesystem Backup Job on Solaris Clients hang on "Waiting for Job Options".
This is previously documented.Backup Job is Delayed (FSG-389) - The start of a backup job may be delayed in an environment with a large number of direct auto mounts on Solaris Clients. Even though remote mounts are not part of the selection set. The job may remain at “Waiting for Job Options" status while the Filesystem Plugin attempts to temporarily load the auto mounts to determine whether they are located on remote systems.
This delay can be alleviated by selecting the “Backup through Remote Mounts”
Another option is to edit the nvfs.cfg file in the NetVault/config directory. Add the following stanza to nvfs.cfg:
[Performance:DoRecursiveAutoMountScan]
Value=FALSE
