Exchange 2010 DAG hangs after it "Failed to launch Proxy Master" on client (4045550)

Description:
Exchange 2010 DAG backup hangs until user aborts it. The databases and logs seem to be backed up successfully. However early in the the backup the following is logged "Failed to launch Proxy Master on xyz".

The backup will continue normally until the proxy master is launched on the machine xyz.

The machine xyz is another Exchange Server. However it is not part of the DAG, and has no netvault installed and yet the plugin is trying to launch a proxy master on it. The plugin (through Active Directory) assumes that this additional exchange server is part of the DAG and therefore attempts to launch proxy master process on it. This is a normal behaviour

The fault MEG-431 has been opened for this.

Solution/Workaround:

This issue is under investigation by our R&D team.
In the meantime, installing a netvault client on the additional exchange server appears to be helping the job to complete, but it will still log the same error message.
