When performing a transfer, Naval first creates a snapshot on the primary filer and transfers data from that snapshot. The error indicates the snapshot was not created; commonly due to lack of disk space. Have a look at the 'd' output on the primary filer. Also check the 'snappier' log file on both the primary & secondary present in /viol/viol/etc/log.
