Failed to get datasource for exchange server with error 0x80004002 (4044546)

Since upgrading NetVault on Exchange Server 2007 to version 8.5 and Exchange Server APM 4.1.7,
Exchange Server APM backup fail immediately with the following log error message:

Error 2010/01/21 19:19:16 87 Jobs NETVAULT Child Process died unexpectedly
Error 2010/01/21 19:19:16 87 Jobs NETVAULT Fatal error: Backup Died Unexpectedly
OR
Error 2010/03/29 13:02:40 30 Jobs NETVAULT Job manager lost message channel unexpectedly
Error 2010/03/29 13:02:40 30 Jobs NETVAULT Fatal error: Backup Lost Message Channel Unexpectedly

Additional trace messages from the Exchange Server APM shows:
