Description: How to perform a VaultDR Offline Backup
Procedure:
1. Take the desired Client offline and reboot it with the VaultOS software.
2. Configure the VaultOS client with the appropriate IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway as outlined in the VaultDR User's Guide.
3. From the NetVault Server, access the Backup window from the NetVault GUI
(by clicking on the Backup button or by selecting Backup from the
Operations pull-down menu).
4. From the Backup window, double-click on the NetVault Server (containing
the VaultDR Server Plugin) to open it.
5. Open the VaultDR Server Plugin by double-clicking on it. The hard disk(s)
located on the Client system will be revealed. In order to select the entire disk
for a backup, click the check box to the left of the disk title.
6. Select items as desired for a backup. Selected items are marked by a green
check, items not selected are blank, and omitted items contain a red cross.
7. Select the "Backup Options" tab and select the desired options.
:::NOTE::: With the Raw Mode option selected, all partition information for a selected hard drive will be ignored and the whole drive will be backed up in a "bit by bit" image. Because of this, the Raw Mode option should not be selected for backing up a single partition. The restore will also be "bit by bit" eliminating the need to format the target drive:::
8. Input an appropriate title in the "Job Title" box.
9. "Schedule", "Target", and "Advanced Options" can be set as you see fit.
10. Begin the job by clicking the "Submit" button (Traffic Light).
