Product & Version: NetVault All
OS Version: All
Module & Version: N/A
Application version: N/A
Symptoms:
Trying to restore scripts from a backup of the /usr/netvault/scripts directory.
Even though a filesystem backup can be made from the .../netvault directory, a restore to that directory cannot be performed as NetVault entries are covered by a NetVault Database (NVDB) backup. The NVDB backup should be performed on a daily basis and run when no other backups and restores are in progress.
All you would need to do is to go to the Restore window, drill down to the NVDB Saveset and then only select the scripts item.
When restoring any item from the NVDB backup, the NetVault GUI will close and crash. This is perfectly normal, as NetVault has to stop the Service in order to restore that file. All you have to do is start the NetVault Service again and check the .../netvault/scripts directory to see the restored script files. If you have not performed a NVDB backup after you have placed the script files in the scripts directory, alternatively you can relocate the restore to a directory that is not in the NetVault folder.
