Data copy or Duplications of larger backups are failing at the end. (4044116)

Any duplicatoins or data copies of backups with a data size greater than 400GB will fail during with the the following error in the logs, " Duplicate Failed" as well as the errors below:

RAS transfer has already been ended for device connection
Severe Error ... Media Request Failed: (null)
Error ... Job manager lost message channel unexpectedly
 

This issue was introduced in NetVault 8.6.1 with the introduction of support for NDMP backups ability to write to SmartDisk.

Any backups larger than 400 GB run with Netvault version 8.6.1 that need duplicate copies will have to have individual backups run and targeted to each specific media.

For example, if a backup needs to be run to Virtual library or NV Smartdisk =AND= also copied to physical tape, then there will have to be two backups run on that selection set that target each device seperately.

This is true regardless of the type of plugin. It could be File System, Exchange or NDMP, it doesn't matter.

A new NetVault 8.6.1 binary (build 9) has been created to fix this issue and it's available for download from the quest.com website.
